Poetry on Carp Street, Bega
January-June 2012
Do
you like penning poetry? Perhaps reading it? From January to June Cafe
Evolve on Carp Street, Bega, will be Australian Poetry’s hub for South
Coast poets. January is the month that begins with the installation of
the ‘poetry box’ at Cafe Evolve, where you can share your written
pieces, ideas, or favourites. You can place your poetry in the box and
have it displayed on the walls of the cafe. Michelle Gaddes, Australian
Poetry’s south coast Cafe Poet facilitator, will collect the poetry
each Friday; she will also be at Cafe Evolve each Friday at 10am where
she will be more than happy to talk and listen to ideas and poems. The
far south coast is rich with creative, literary peoples who live in a
landscape that breathes poetry just looking at it. In the next six
months it is hoped that many of these writers will share their
creations. Pop into Evolve every Friday at 10am and say hi. For further
information see: http://www.australianpoetry.org/cafe-poet-program/ and
read Michelle’s updates: http://poettreeoncarp.tumblr.com/ -
Alternatively, if you can’t call in, email Michelle michellegaddes69@gmail.com with your poetry or idea.

Michelle Gaddes is a SCWC member and has recently published her book of poems called Pariah, Ginnindera Press, 2011.
